Flipkart Customer Service

I’m writing this article to show others who are using Flipkart. I want to share my story so other people who are purchasing from Flipkart understand how Flipkart customer service works.

Recently I purchased an MI Stick 4K from Flipkart and it was defective the problem is that the volume MI stick is too low and opening any app like Amazon Prime or Netflix takes 20 seconds to open and close.

After the product was delivered I called Flipkart in under 30 minutes. I said the product had a problem and I wanted to return this. They told me that they couldn’t do that and I had to deal with customer care of MI. After a long discussion with Himanshu, I’ve explained that other people who bought this product are also facing the same issue. I tried my best to make my point clear.

I explained my problem. I’m doing WFH and the service centre is 20–25 KM away from my home so suggest an alternative solution so I can return it.

In the end, he told me to do one thing: call MI care and I replied What if they will not attend my call? Because at the time of purchasing a product, they attend a call and after we get any problem they can’t attend the call. Himanshu told me that you can try to call them and ask for a Job sheet and if you are unable to connect then we’ll see the workaround. So here replacement is the only option which I know so the meaning of workaround is to return the product. I said this to Himanshu.

I called the MI service centre and after 10–15 min talk and troubleshooting he said you’ve to visit the service centre. Then I asked for a Job sheet. He told me that only service centres can provide job sheets. Himanshu from Flipkart was clever and he didn’t tell me this because he wanted to wrap up the call. He gave me half the information.

Then I requested Flipkart to call me back and this time it was Gopal and he was singing the same song sung by Himanshu but the interesting part is that he told me that the last agent gave me wrong information. This means they set up their management so every agent has different information about the company policies. They are untrained agents on Flipkart. I’m saying that because I’ve wasted a lot of time on call. Again after a 10–25 min talk, he told me that I had to visit the service centre and I’d get my Job Sheets there.

MI Service centre

I visited the MI service centre and they checked the product and found it defective. I asked for a job sheet so I can give it to Flipkart. They replied that they could provide me with a job sheet if I replaced the product. Again I found myself fooled because the last agent Gopal didn’t inform me that I had to replace my product for Job Sheets. The MI care agent told me that the Flipkart agent didn’t share this information because they just wanted to wrap up the call. Companies do this to fool customers.

I called a Flipkart agent and this time I talked with Kerti and shared all my problems again. She told me that my case was handled by the backend team and she was good at handling cases I’ve also mentioned that the last agents Himanshu and Gopal gave me the wrong information and fooled me. After 10 minutes of conversation, she understood that she couldn’t handle this case so she excused herself and said she was not able to hear me and disconnected the call.

Now this time was very frustrating. I was on leave just to go to a service centre which is 20–25 KM away from my home. I request another call and attend by Sanjay. This time I said that the last call was disconnected by Kirti and I wanted to talk with the supervisor or manager. He tried to convince me that he could fix my problem. I said no, I just wanted to talk with my supervisor. After holding my call for 1 minute he said the supervisor was busy in some meeting. I said I was in Flipkart and I know the culture that supervisors are the only people who enjoy the floor. Flipkart culture is the worst as compared to other call centre industries. He again held my call and said the same thing.

So in the end I didn’t get any solution. I have been through the worst experience with Flipkart. Flipkart was not like this before it was occupied by Walmart. I can relate that if Flipkart offers such kind of customer service then how Walmart’s service would be? I tried to reach out to social media but they are just copying and pasting the same message that shares details on personal chat for security reasons and that personal chat has never been seen by my Flipkart agent.

My suggestion is to those who are reading this. Please do not buy any electronic products from Flipkart. If I’ve purchased it from Amazon then I’ll get good customer support. Go to Amazon.
